Cocoa Sustainability
MEMBERS COMMITS TO SUSTAINABLE COCOA FARMING
At ICCFO, we recognize that how we grow our cocoa crop is as important as our commitment to sustainability. We have a responsibility to protect our business, customers, communities and the future of our children. We understand that to achieve a successful long-term cocoa farming profession we must be able to sustainably grow our cocoa crop.
As our members continue to grow their cocoa crop, they aim to minimize impact on the environment and to contribute to the global transition to a low-carbon economy. We are mindful of our social responsibilities and committed to the production of high-quality cocoa beans that meets national and international standards.
ICCFO is a major and only organization that can implement comprehensive social, economic, and environmental actions and bring change in the cocoa sector. As cocoa sector only global umbrella organization for cocoa farmers we have what it takes to improve cocoa farming profession and to encourage and train the next generation of cocoa entrepreneurs.
We believe in order to make the cocoa sector sustainable must include the eradication of poverty, child and forced labour and the protection of the environment. The sector will not be sustainable unless cocoa farmers are able to grow their crop with zero deforestation and can earn a fair price for their cocoa crop.
Our goal is to make sure that cocoa beans are produce, and consume in a sustainable manner.
